Write Me A Rose Pens A Successful Return
Top class pacer Write Me A Rose returned to action after a two-month break with a solid performance during the session of qualifiers on Friday, Nov. 21 at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
The richest ($668,617) and fastest (1:48s) horse entered in Friday's qualifying session, five-year-old Write Me A Rose showed his backclass with a slick wire-to-wire 1:54.3 winning effort on Friday morning. Doug McNair engineered the victory, pointing Write Me A Rose to the top from post six and cutting all the fractions from there. After splits of :29.1, 58.1 and 1:26.4, Write Me A Rose paced home in :27.4 in front of a motionless Mcnair to win by more than three lengths. Larceny (Billy Davis Jr.) closed well to finish second with Joe Dimagio (Daryl Thiessen) rounding out the top three.
A homebred of New York's Windermere Stable LLC, Write Me A Rose (Sportswriter - Caribbean Rose N) sports 21 lifetime victories under the tutelage of Rob and Kyle Fellows. Kyle handles the conditioning.
