Angels Uprising Passes
Trot Insider has learned that former Ontario-based Open pacing mare and broodmare Angels Uprising has passed away at the age of 34.
Angels Uprising was trained by Larry Fitzsimmons and owned by the Fitzsimmons family and partners her whole life.
Described as a "one of a kind" mare by her connections, Angels Uprising was a career winner of 25 races with 46 additional top three finishes in 158 starts and more than $300,000 in purse earnings. The Fundamentalist-Chicopee Star mare won the 1995 Damsel Pacing Series and took a lifetime mark of 1:52.4 at Woodbine Racetrack during her four-year-old campaign, going on to win Open and Preferred level races at Woodbine, Elmira Raceway, Flamboro Downs and Western Fair Raceway.
As a broodmare, Angels Uprising foaled seven race winners, including six-figure earners Jake Parrish ($192,940 - 1:54.2h) and Ontario Sires Stakes winner Angel On The Wing ($122.490 - 1:54.3s).
