Jamieson Wins Five, Sweeps Harvest Splits At Mohawk
Driver Jody Jamieson stole the show on Monday, Nov. 17 at Woodbine Mohawk Park, winning five of 11 races on the card including four consecutive and sweeping both $20,000 Harvest Series splits for sophomore trotting fillies with Nightingale and TH Monica.
In the first Harvest split for Ontario-sired three-year-old trotting fillies who were non-winners of $30,000 as of Sept. 30, Jamieson had the call on Nightingale (pictured above) from the outside post eight.
Sent off at 9-1 odds, Jamieson crossed Nightingale over to lead immediately off the wings, reaching the quarter in :28.4 before releasing Ibelieveinangels (Doug McNair) to the front on the backstretch. The new leader cleared just prior to the half of :58.4 before reaching three-quarters in 1:27.4 with Nightingale poised to strike from the pocket. Nightingale trotted home strongly in :28.4 to put away Ibelieveinangels late and reach the wire first by a length in 1:56.4. Show Me The Green (Dale Spence) rallied late for second, with Stovid (Trevor Henry) finishing third with Ibelieveinangels getting rough-gaited late in the lane and finishing fourth as the 1-2 favourite.
The victory was the third in 17 starts this year for Nightingale ($21.10), who is trained by Susie Kerwood. The daughter of Muscle Mass-Flos Conch Shack has earned $63,620 in 2025 for owner Jeffery Ruch of Innisfil, Ont.
In the second Harvest division, Jamieson piloted TH Monica from post three at 4-1 odds. TH Monica floated away from the wings and into fourth while Race Director (J.R. Plante) called the shots to the quarter in :28.1. The field remained single-file to the half in :57.1 when TH Monica flushed the cover of Validus (Chris Christoforou) moving into the last turn, set to strike from second-over with Race Director leading to three-quarters in 1:26.2. TH Monica ripped off cover at the top of the lane, picking up steam and trotting away to score by 3-1/2 lengths on the wire in 1:55.4. Pier Ho Emerald (James MacDonald) rallied by Race Director late for the place position.
Trained by and co-owned Francis Dumouchel, TH Monica ($10.40) has won two of 14 races and banked $44,650 on the year. The daughter of Green Manalishi S-Bluebird D Train surpassed six figures in career earnings following the lifetime-best effort for Dumouchel and partners Ecurie SCL of Sorel, Que., Claude Grondin of East Broughton, Que., and Daniel Davis of Peterborough, Ont.
Jamieson's three other wins on the evening were with Ambitious Mind ($3.80, 1:53.2) for trainer Gerard Demers, Right Here Hanover ($4.90, 1:54.1) for Justin Turcotte and Early Action ($20.80, 1:51.4) for Carmen Auciello.
