Dandy Ideal winning at Yonkers Raceway

A total of 14 three-year-old colt and gelding pacers will slug it out between a pair of $35,000 USD Progress Pace eliminations on Thursday, Nov. 20 at Bally's Dover.

Fresh off his score in the $210,353 Matron on Nov. 13 at Dover, Dandy Ideal (pictured above) headlines the first elimination in race 12 with regular pilot Jason Bartlett slated to drive for trainer Hunter Oakes. The New York Sire Stakes champion has won 10 of 17 starts on the year while banking $1.2 million, with major stakes wins in the Max Hempt Memorial and Jennas Beach Boy to go along with a runner-up in the Breeders Crown. Dandy Ideal will leave from the rail in the field of seven which also includes the Brett Pelling-trained Sugar Man (PP3, Todd McCarthy), who enters off back-to-back stakes victories at Harrah's Hoosier Park.

The second elimination will go postward in the 14th race with Matron runner-up Captain Optimistic headlining the field from post four. The Cane Pace and Monument Circle champion will have Scott Zeron in the bike for trainer Nancy Takter. The Captaintreacherous colt has won five times in 18 starts while earning $842,547 in 2025.

Meadowlands Pace champion Madden Oaks looks to rebound after an eighth-place effort in the Matron. Simon Allard is slated to drive the Cameron Capone-trained son of Huntsville who has won five of 16 starts in 2025 while surpassing $900,000 in seasonal earnings.

Millionaire Prince Hal Hanover will leave from the outside post seven in the second elimination with Todd McCarthy piloting for Dr. Ian Moore. The 2025 Adios and Carl Milstein Memorial champion has earned more than $1.1 million on the season and owns a mark of 1:47.2, taken in a Bluegrass victory at The Red Mile. Prince Hal Hanover enters off a fourth-place effort behind Dandy Ideal in the Matron last out.

The top four finishers from each elimination will advance to the final on Wednesday, Nov. 26 with an estimated purse of $250,000 USD.
