The 2025 harness racing season at Northside Downs wrapped up on Saturday, Nov. 15, punctuated by an impressive performance in the track's top class by Dontblvmejustwatch.

With Ryan Campbell at the controls on Saturday in the $1,700 Winners Over feature, Dontblvmejustwatch unleashed his own brand of uptown funk with a wire-to-wire effort that was too hot for his six rivals. After freewheeling on the front end through fractions of :28.1, :57.2 and 1:26.2, Dontblvmejustwatch needed just a :30.4 final stanza to open up on his Saturday afternoon competition with the timer tripped at 1:57.1. Pocket sitter Kiss Me Im Irish (Mark Pezzarello) finished second, 4-1/2 lengths back with Thunder Alley (Gerard Kennedy) at the bottom of the healthy triactor ticket. Favoured Hugh Heff finished fourth.

Trained by Dana Getto, Dontblvmejustwatch (Hes Watching - Hudson Gal) is owned by Randy Getto of New Waterford, Wayne Hardy of Sydney and Susan MacSween of River Ryan, N.S. The win marked his sixth of his eight-year-old campaign, bringing his career total to 30 with $108,668 in lifetime earnings.

As the 2-1 second choice, Dontblvmejustwatch paid $6.30 to win.

Mark Pezzarello didn't find the winner's circle on Saturday, but his numbers posted this season earned him the leading driver title at Northside Downs for 2025. A perennial leader at the Cape Breton oval, Pezzarello last swept the driving categories in 2021 (sharing the dash win title with Ryan Campbell) but his 41 wins and $63,933 in earnings topped all North Sydney sulkysitters. Ardon Mofford (28) and Randy Getto (20) completed the top three in the driving colony.

Ardon Mofford picked up a pair of wins on Saturday behind a pair of horses he conditioned to lift his local training tally on the season to 26. That total was one fewer than his 27 scores that bested all trainers at Northside Downs in 2024, but it was enough to lead the ranks in 2025. Mofford's trainees bested the totals from Dana Getto (22) and Heather Hawkins (16) for his third consecutive dash win title at Northside.
