Standardbred Canada (SC) is proud to announce that driver Austin Sorrie has been selected to represent Canada in this year’s Prix des Rencontres Internationales du Trotteur Français.

Canada has once again been invited to participate in the 2025 edition of this prestigious international competition, which will take place on Friday, Nov. 28 at the world-renowned Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes in Paris, France.

Sorrie earned the honour as Canada’s current leading driver in wins for 2025. With 350 victories and more than $2.3 million in purse earnings already this season, he is enjoying the strongest campaign of his career. A past recipient of the O’Brien Future Star Award (2020), Sorrie continues to build on his reputation as one of Canada’s top driving talents.

“Standardbred Canada is thrilled that Austin has accepted this opportunity to represent our country on the international stage,” said Darryl Kaplan, SC's President and CEO. “We are confident he will make Canada proud both on and off the track.”

Canada has a proud history at this event. In 2012, Billy Davis Jr. captured the title, securing a memorable victory for Canadian harness racing. Other Canadian drivers who have left their mark include Scott Zeron (runner-up in 2010), Randy Waples (2011) and Doug McNair (2024), each helping to showcase Canadian talent to the world.

Standardbred Canada will share further updates and coverage as the 2025 Prix des Rencontres Internationales du Trotteur Français approaches.
