The 2025 harness racing season at Red Shores at Summerside Raceway is winding down, but the battles atop the local standings remain as fierce as ever heading into the Remembrance Day program on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

The final Summerside card of the 2025 season will kick off at 6 p.m. (AST) on Tuesday evening.

Corey MacPherson continues to lead the driving colony at the Prince County oval with 55 wins from 366 starts and more than $256,000 in purse earnings. David Dowling also sits at 55 wins but is absent from action on Tuesday, making the match-up between MacPherson and third-place Paul Langille, who remains close with 54 victories, ensuring the title race stays tight right through the final card of the season. MacPherson is listed to drive in all 12 races while Langille has 10 drives on the program.

On the training side, Earl Watts holds the advantage with 24 wins from 116 starts, with his starters amassing $148,430 in seasonal earnings and maintaining a strong 20.7 per cent strike rate. Phil Sizer continues to apply pressure with 22 victories. Watts has three starters on Tuesday while Sizer has five entered.

The featured $5,100 Winners Over Handicap Pace lines up in race 11 with the consistent Brookdale Johnny again poised to take centre stage. Driven by Langille and trained by Sizer, the five-year-old Rockin In Heaven-Brookdale Gia gelding will leave from the outside post five as the 5-2 morning line favourite for owners Doug Polley Sr. & Jr. A 10-time winner on the year, including his last outing in this class on Nov. 5, Brookdale Johnny will take on an accomplished group that includes Doc Awesome (MacPherson), Sauble Attack (Ken Murphy), Middleton Terror (Brodie MacPhee) and P L Quicksand (Brady Sweet).

The "Backstretch Beat" goes with Brookdale Johnny to win the top event: “The iron-tough campaigner continues to show why he’s one of Summerside’s most consistent performers. He’s been right there in every start and with Langille in the bike again, we expect to see him on the lead from the get-go or swinging hard at the end of the mile.”

The Remembrance Day program features a full lineup of sponsored races starting in race one with the Remembrance Day Pace, then the race two Prince County Horsemen’s Club Pace, race three Red Shores Pace, race four Happy Retirement Hemingway Pace, race five PCHC Sales & Promotions Committee Pace, race six P.E.I. Harness Racing Industry Association Pace, race seven Universum Pace and race eight Windemere Farms Pace.
