The Standardbred Canada Board of Directors has approved recognizing three finalists in select categories.

The categories that will now include a third finalist are:

• Two-Year-Old Pacing Filly
• Two-Year-Old Trotting Filly
• Two-Year-Old Pacing Colt
• Two-Year-Old Trotting Colt
• Three-Year-Old Pacing Filly
• Three-Year-Old Trotting Filly
• Three-Year-Old Pacing Colt
• Three-Year-Old Trotting Colt
• Older Pacing Mare
• Older Trotting Mare
• Older Pacing Horse
• Older Trotting Horse
• Armstrong Breeder of the Year
• Keith Waples Driver of the Year
• Trainer of the Year
• Outstanding Groom Award
• Future Star Award
• O’Brien Award of Horsemanship
• Media Excellence – Outstanding Written Work
• Media Excellence – Outstanding Video, Film or Broadcast
• Media Excellence – Outstanding Photography

This decision was made to further highlight industry excellence and align with other international awards programs. Expanding these categories to include a third finalist will provide broader and deeper recognition of outstanding performance, contributions and talent within the Canadian Standardbred racing industry.
