Christmas is fast approaching, so you'd better hang those lights, finish that shopping and tromp around in the yard before January hits you like a shovel full of snow.

But amidst all that, SC would like you to take a moment to send us your best horse-related Christmas stories.

Maybe you remember a particular Christmas Eve at the barn, a Christmas morning miracle, a great race or a family tradition that involves your equine friends. Whatever it is, we want to hear about it.

There are no restrictions as to what the story needs to be about, but it must involve both horses and Christmas and it must be true! It must also be less than 1,200 words, and SC would be thrilled to see any accompanying photos if you have them.

The winning story will be published in the December issue of Trot Magazine and its author treated to a dinner for four at the racetrack of his or her choice.

The story deadline is Monday, November 10 at 12:00 p.m. (noon).
