Harness Racing B.C. Annual General Meeting Dec. 9

The Board of Directors of Harness Racing B.C. Society has announced its Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025 at 6 p.m. (PT) via Zoom video conference.

The business to be conducted will include the usual Call to Order/Introductions, Approval of Agenda, Adoption of Minutes, Received Financial Statements, Appointment of External Accountant, President Report, Election Results, New Business and Adjournment.

Seven directors are to be elected this year as follows: in the Breeder category, two positions for two years; in the Owner category, two positions for two years and one position for one year; in the Trainer/Driver category, two positions for two years. 

Only 2025 Active Members in good standing will be eligible to be nominated, to vote or run for a position. Nominations must be received by email to Diane Pennington at [email protected] by Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025. The nomination form is available on the HRBC website by clicking here.

The Nomination Committee is as follows: Lynda Atkinson, Dave Hudon, Kelly MacMillan, Jim Marino and Ross Sharp.

If ballots are required to be mailed, per By-law 6:5, the current ongoing postal strike will prevent the use of the mail method, therefore HRBC will actively explore alternative methods. If the postal strike ends, HRBC will continue with mail out ballots on Nov. 13, 2025, to be returned by Nov. 25, 2025. Ballots will be counted on Dec. 4, 2025.

Breeder – Robin Godfrey, Rick Turner – Two-year term
Owner – Leslie Godlien, Donna Scrannage – Two-year term
Owner – Open Position – One year term
Trainer/Driver – Jeff Waltenburgh, Margaret White – Two-year term
