D A Mindcraft as a yearling

D A Mindcraft topped the opening session of the two-day London Classic Yearling Sale held on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at the J-AAR Expo Centre at Western Fair District in London, Ont.

Selling as Hip 80, D A Mindcraft was purchased for $140,000 by Pollack Racing of Venetia, Pennsylvania. Consigned by Dean & Ashley Wilson, the Muscle Mass colt is out of the six-figure earning Here Comes Herbie mare Pretty Crafty, who has total progeny earnings of more than $1.7 million from eight eligible starters. D A Mindcraft is a full brother to Publicity Seeker ($336,110 - 1:54.4f), Masstercraft ($315,884 - 1:52.2s), Stable Genius ($255,756 - 1:51.1) and D A Mastercraft ($35,568 - Q2:00.1s).

Code Name Jack, Hip 62, was the second highest priced yearling of the opening session as the son of Bulldog Hanover attracted a final bid of $135,000 by Power Racing Stable Inc. of Burlington, Ont. Also consigned by Dean & Ashley Wilson, Code Name Jack is out of the No Pan Intended mare Lyonssweetie, a career winner of more than $200,000, and the colt is a half brother to Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots winner Hes A Sweetheart ($166,762 - 1:52.1f).

Panache Seelster, Hip 66, was purchased for $120,000 by Roger Mayotte of Mississauga, Ont. Consigned by Seelster Farms, the King Of The North filly in the first foal out of the Muscle Mass mare Princesspartypants, an Ontario Sires Stakes Gold winner with nearly a quarter-million dollars in earnings.

Valor Seelster, Hip 81, also garnered a six-figure bid, selling for $110,000. Jack Darling of Cambridge, Ont. purchased the son of Bulldog Hanover from the Seelster Farms consignment. The colt is the first foal out of the unraced Always B Miki mare Violet Limelight, who is a half sister to millionaire Little Brown Jug champion Limelight Beach and recent sub-1:50 two-year-old Grand Circuit stakes winner Im A Lou Lou.

Rounding out the top five yearlings sold, Tailwind Seelster, Hip 26, brought a bid of $87,000. Another Seelster Farms-consigned colt, the son of Cattlewash out of the unraced Shadow Play mare Tanis Seelster was purchased by Colonel Schneider of Arthur, Ont. His dam is a full sister to Tessa Seelster, an Ontario Sires Stakes Gold winner with earnings over half a million dollars. Tailwind Seelster is a half brother to True Seelster ($126,385 - 1:52f) and recent two-year-old winner Teesha Seelster.

A total of 145 yearlings were sold during the opening session for $4,599,000. The average price of $31,717 marked an increase of 11.9 per cent compared to last year's opening session when 123 yearlings sold for $3,486,000 with the average price at $28,341.

The second session of the 2025 London Classic Yearling Sale will begin at 12 noon on Wednesday, Oct. 15, featuring Hips 156-305.
