Ervin Hanover Wins Qualifying Session At Mohawk

Harness racing's top ranked older male pacer, Ervin Hanover, got his first charted mile in since the Dayton Pacing Derby on Friday (Oct. 10) in a qualifying session at Woodbine Mohawk Park in preparation for the 2025 Breeders Crown.
Louis-Philippe Roy and the Dave Menary student took centre stage in the final qualifier of the morning with just two entries in the field. Ervin Hanover timed his mile in :29.3, :57.4, and 1:25.2 before using a :25.3 final quarter to win by 2-1/2 lengths in 1:51.
Owned by Pollack Racing LLC, the five-year-old son of Captaintreacherous and the Well Said mare Eloquent Grace has made eight trips to the winner's circle in 14 starts this year, yielding $734,513 and a career best 1:47.2 matched in his last three starts in the $347,222 Ewart Memorial at Scioto Downs, $75,000 Free-For-All Pace at Mohawk, and the $347,222 Dayton Derby at Dayton Raceway. Ervin Hanover is a career winner of over $1.2 million with a record of 24-8-9 in 72 starts.
