Just Applause, Odds On Put Option Sweep DSBF Prelims

Just Applause and Odds On Put Option, both driven by Tim Tetrick, completed sweeps of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund preliminary rounds for two-year-old pacing fillies as they won their respective $27,778 divisions on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at Harrington Raceway.
Just Applause ($2.10) was a 1:56.3 winner in the first division. After moving from fourth to the pocket mid-race, she re-emerged heading into the final turn and powered to a 3-1/4-length victory over Lovers Cay (Mark King), with Philly View (Allan Davis) third. Trained by Linda Toscano, the winning Hes Watching-Rock Me Baby filly improved to two-for-four lifetime and raised her bankroll to $31,419 for owners Let It Ride Stables Inc. and Carl Howard.
In the second split, Odds On Put Option ($2.10), prevailed on the front end in 1:56.1 by 1-1/2 lengths over Burlesque Belle (Corey Callahan), followed by Sucha Sporty Girl (Jason Green). The winner, a daughter of Hes Watching-Odds On Hollywood, is perfect in two lifetime starts and has earned $27,778. Scott Di Domenico trains the filly for Odds On Racing.
The top eight point-earners from the two legs of DSBF action will return to compete in the $110,000 USD finals on Oct. 13-15.
On the undercard, Kelvin Smith and Jonathan Hutson's Lofty Treasure ($8.20) captured the $20,139 Fillies and Mares Winners Over Pace. After remaining fourth on the cones through three-quarters, she charged home for driver Pat Berry and won by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:53.1. Earth Angel (Troy Beyer) was second, with Jett Propelled (Jason Thompson) rounding out the top three. Lofty Treasure, a five-year-old daughter of Beachtrea-Lofty Yankee, is a 16-time winner in 96 lifetime starts and has earned $374,090. She is trained by Joe Hundertpfund Jr.
Three-year-old rookie Lil Miss Wondrphyl continued her hot streak, taking her fifth straight victory while moving up in class to a $15,972 non-winners-of-six event. Callahan piloted the Control The Moment-Bath Beach filly to the 1:54.4 score for trainer Dylan Davis and owner Michael Casalino Jr. Lil Miss Wondrphyl has earned $36,013.
