Windor Prepares For Epic Battle

Windor

Windor faces a tall task when he gets to the gate in one week's time.

That tall task involves finding the hole in the armour of undefeated pacing colt Beau Jangles.

Both Windor and Beau Jangles are likely entrants in the 2025 Ontario Sires Stakes Gold Super Final at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Friday, Oct. 10. And both of these colts are likely to receive some public support as contenders in the provincial season finale.

While Beau Jangles danced to his ninth straight win on Tuesday, Sept. 30 in the final OSS Gold leg, Windor was a sick scratch from that event. Sixth in the division's point standings, Windor tuned up for his possible Super Final test with an on-the-engine qualifying victory on Friday, Oct. 3 at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

With regular pilot Doug McNair at the lines, Windor crossed over from post seven early for command and then maintained his spot atop his rivals from there. After fractions of :29, :58.3 and 1:27.1, the son of Bulldog Hanover - Winx paced home in :27.4 for the comfortable 1:55 score. Twin B Cabo (Jody Jamieson) edged out Una Momenta (Roger Mayotte) for the place spot.

Mike Vanderkemp trains Windor, a two-time winner with a mark of 1:51.2s and more than $141,930 in earnings, for owner-breeder Dianna Secord of Fergus, Ont.
