Strangles Case Confirmed In Ontario Standardbred

The Equine Disease Communication Centre (EDCC) has reported that a case of equine strangles has been confirmed in a Standardbred located in Ontario.
Located at a farm in Waterloo, Ont., a 13-year-old Standardbred gelding showed clinical signs of a fever of 104 degrees Fahrenheit, a snotty nose and was off its feed on Sept. 12. The horse is in voluntary quarantine.
