Pink Kangaroo and driver Scott Wray had Thatll Be Franny parked past the quarter pole in :27.2 before the latter muscled to the lead. Once in command, Thatll Be Franny supplied middle splits of :57.2 and 1:27. Pink Kangaroo went into attack mode in the lane, and her :29-second final quarter was good enough to earn her the win over Thatll Be Franny by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:56.1. Victim Of Love came on strong at the end of the mile en route to finishing third.
Sent off at odds of 8-1, the eight-year-old daughter of Cams Card Shark-Holy Matrimony improved her 2012 record to 3-1-3 from 12 trips to the track. The 35-time winner, who has banked more than $567,000 to date, is trained by Brian Hodgson for owner John Bell of Petrolia, ON.
Tuesday’s program also featured the opening leg of the City Of London Series, with four $8,000 pacing divisions for the fillies and mares along with a quartet of $8,000 splits for the colts and geldings.
The divisions for the ladies went to Sonic Breeze (1:57.4), Phoenix Seelster (1:58.1), Taras Jet (1:58) and Brightside Maude (2:00).
Winners in the splits for the boys were Spike Hanover (1:58), Regal Delight (1:56.3), Special Session (1:58.3) and Carsons Cracker (1:57).
