Louprint, Miki And Minnie Star In Sophomore PASS Finals

North America Cup winner Louprint stayed perfect on the season, and Miki And Minnie bolstered her credentials as the continent's top-ranked horse as the pair of superstars headlined the four $416,667 Pennsylvania Sire Stakes (PASS) Finals for three-year-olds on Saturday, Sept. 6 at The Meadows.
Louprint, making his second start since his North America Cup win in June, rallied up the passing lane to prevail in the championship for pacing colts and geldings. Stretched to get the lead from post seven in a :26.2 first quarter, Louprint quickly released Adios winner Prince Hal Hanover (Todd McCarthy) as the field headed to a :54.3 half. From there, Ronnie Wrenn Jr. watched and waited for the passing lane with Louprint as Prince Hal Hanover handled the fractions, as well as a first-over Twisted Destiny (Dexter Dunn) through three-quarters in 1:21.4. A :26.4 last quarter sprint at the pylons proved just enough to Louprint a neck victory over Prince Hal Hanover in 1:48.4. Twisted Destiny finished third.
Louprint has visited the winner's circle after all seven starts this year for breeders Burke Racing Stable LLC of Fredericktown, Pa., Weaver Bruscemi LLC of Canonsburg, Pa., and Phillip Collura of Mountain Top, Pa., who own the colt along with Larry Karr of Randolph, N.J. He went five-for-five in Pennsylvania Sire Stakes competition this season after a Breeders Crown-winning campaign at two. The son of Sweet Lou-Rockin Racer, trained by Ron Burke, is 14-for-17 lifetime with $1,870,377 in earnings. He paid $2.80.
Miki And Minnie added another stakes victory to a seasonal resume that has her ranked number one in the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown Poll as she captured the PASS final for filly pacers. Away from the rail, regular driver Dunn raced the Always B Miki-Thats The Ticket filly third through opening-half panels of :26.4 and :55 before tipping first-up as the field straightened out down the backside. After a brief tuck behind leader Rodeo Drive Deo (Dave Miller) past three-quarters in 1:22, Dunn moved Miki And Minnie back out on the final turn, and she powered clear by two lengths to prevail in 1:49.4. Rodeo Drive Deo finished second, with Time Of The Season (Andrew McCarthy) third.
Trained by Chris Ryder, Miki And Minnie now has 10 wins from 11 starts in 2025, including victories in the Fan Hanover, Silverman Memorial, Shady Daisy, and Lynch Memorial. She has won 16 of 22 career starts and has raked in $2,128,756 in earnings for owner-breeders Craig Henderson of Chicago, Ill., Robert Mondillo of Delaware, Ohio, and Lawrence Minowitz of Greenwich, Conn. She returned $2.20 at the windows.
Highlandstarburst came out of the pocket rounding the final turn and charged to victory in the final for trotting fillies in a career-best 1:53.3. Leaving from post five, Gingras worked the Nancy Takter trainee to the lead past the opening quarter in :27.3 but gave way on the retake by Hangover (Dave Palone). Highlandstarburst tracked the leader through middle fractions of :56.2 and 1:24.3, slid out at the bottom of the final turn, and out-kicked Hangover by 2-1/4 lengths for the victory. Ms Prada (Wrenn) finished third.
Highland Thoroughbred Farm of Inglewood, Ont. owns and bred the winning Father Patrick-Highland Top Hill filly, who now has three wins from eight starts this season. Highlandstarburst is three-for-13 lifetime with $301,175 in the bank. Her win price was $6.
Fashion Green and Tim Tetrick grabbed the lead from post eight and dominated the colt trot final in 1:52.2. Unchallenged throughout the mile, the Greenshoe-Fashion Athena gelding and Tetrick set fractions of :27.4, :56.2, and 1:24.1 and cruised to a 3-1/2-length score over Meshuggah (Scott Zeron). Big Shoes (Yannick Gingras) was third.
Owned and bred by Fashion Farms LLC of New Hope Pa., Fashion Green now has five wins in six starts this season for trainer Jim Campbell. The gelding has been victorious in all but one of 10 career outings and has brought in $549,015 in earnings. He paid $6.40 to win.
There were four $69,444 PASS Consolations, one for each division.
A quarter-pole move to the lead was all Odds On Outlier ($2.10) needed to handily take the pacing male consolation. Dexter Dunn guided the Sweet Lou-Odds On Orlando gelding to the front-stepping 1:49.2 victory by 1-1/4 lengths for trainer Melanie Wrenn and owner Odds on Racing.
Westwinds ($4.60) went from from fifth and last to first with a :27.2 final panel in the filly pace consolation. Trained by Noel Daley and driven by Andrew McCarthy for owners Milton Leeman, Stambaugh Keith Stable, Joe Sbrocco, and Wingfield Brothers LLC, the daughter of Captaintreacherous-Muskoka Moonlight won by a length in a new mark of 1:50.3.
Moni Maker winner Divine Thing ($4), with Todd McCarthy in the bike, turned a two-hole trip into an 8-1/4-length romp in the filly trot consolation. The 1:53 clocking was a lifetime best for the Steve Carter-trained daughter of Greenshoe-A Thing Goin On, who is owned by Jay Mossbarger, Brent Hopper, and Kyle Gray.
After sitting third through five-eighths, Elan Hanover ($4) and Todd McCarthy moved outside and powered home to take the consolation for trotting colts and geldings by 2-1/4 lengths in 1:54.2. The Bar Hopping-Expect A Lot colt is trained by Jeff Cullipher, who co-owns him with Pollack Racing LLC.
