Bee Two Bee Fronts Preferred Field At Red Shores

Saturday night racing returns to Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park on September 6.
A total of 14 dashes are carded on Saturday night, with the first post scheduled for 6 p.m. (ADT) and the $5,000 Preferred Pace in the evening finale.
Bee Two Bee (pictured) gets the nod as the 5-2 morning line favourite in the card's featured event. Jason Hughes has the lines on the Sunshine Beach gelding for trainer Ashley Gamester and owners Donald MacRae and Blair MacLauchlan. The eight-year-old was a recent third place finisher in the $100,000 Gold Cup and Saucer final on Aug. 16, and makes his first start back this week.
Twin B Tuffenuff is the 3-1 second choice from post eight for pilot Gilles Barrieau after a runner-up performance in the $30,000 James Roach MacGregor Gold Cup and Saucer consolation. P.E.I. Colt Stakes Graduate Gold Series winner Malignity has post six for trainer-driver Paul Langille as the 7-2 third choice in the morning line.
Also in the deep field are Avatar J (David Dowling), Navalny (Brady Sweet), Saulsbrook Ian (Ken Murphy), Impeccable Shadow (Corey MacPherson) and Roll Em (Ryan Desroche).
The Post Time Picks go with Bee Two Bee on top.
“Bee Two Bee makes his first start since that memorable third place finish in the Gold Cup and Saucer three weeks ago. He has incredible closing speed and he's as versatile as they come, so he's the one to beat in here.”
Earlier in the night, is the Southern Belle Pace – “The Cheese Biscuit Queen” in the ninth race for a $2,650 purse. Leavin Bruises is favoured at 5-2 from post five with Brady Sweet in the bike for trainer Basil Hunter, who co-owns with Douglas Molyneaux. His rivals include Dylan Sam (Hughes), Dusty Lane Zoro (Don MacNeill) and Heres To Art (Murphy).
The program also includes National Caretaker Appreciation Day presented by Standardbred Canada, Red Shores, PEI Harness Racing Industry Association and P.E.I. Standardbred Horse Owner’s Association. Caretakers will be recognized with merchandise and prize draws for their contribution to our industry.
