Speed Away Back And Best At Harrington

Breakaway Racing and Yorwollahan Racing Team's Speed Away returned to Harrington Raceway after three starts away and picked up where he left off, dominating another $24,658 Open Handicap Trot on Wednesday, Sept. 3.
The seven-year-old Father Patrick-All The Time gelding blasted from the outside post eight for Corey Callahan and made the front near the opening quarter in :28.1. He laid down middle splits of :57.4 and 1:26.3 and drew away down the stretch to win in 1:55 by 3-1/4 lengths over Mickey Muscles (Ross Wolfenden). Canoe Trip (Ross Shand) finished third.
Speed Away ($4.40) has won the last five Opens he has entered at Harrington, and each of his last 14 wins have come at the track. The seven-year-old gelding, trained by Nick Callahan, is seven-for-14 this season. He has won 24 of 91 career starts and has earned $478,510.
