Coming Fashion Delivers In Top Leamington Trot

Coming Fashion winning at Leamington Raceway

Coming Fashion delivered on his pari-mutuel promise as he wore down race leader Duke Deo in the final lap to win the $5,000 Preferred 4 Trot featured on the Sunday, Aug. 31 afternoon program at Leamington Raceway.

Driver Scott Wray worked out the last-to-first victory in rein to the 1-2 favourite, progressing from the back of the compact field of five after a :28.4 opening panel. Coming Fashion advanced into contention just outside of the leading Duke Deo and Nick Steward as they reached the half in 1:01 and continued to press the issue through three-quarters in 1:30.4. It was a two-horse race as they turned for home well ahead of the rest of the field, with Coming Fashion coming on strong at the end to defeat Duke Deo in 2:01.1. Workinitonbroadway and Mark MacDonell finished third, seven lengths behind.

Randy Fulmer trains and co-owns Coming Fashion with Phillip Katcher of Madison, Mississippi. The Crescent Fashion-Here Comes Annie gelding, who was claimed for $15,000 off a Western Fair Raceway victory in January, now has four wins in 11 seasonal starts. A career winner of 19 races, the six-year-old trotter has now earned more than $120,000 lifetime.

Making a successful Leamington Raceway debut, Coming Fashion paid $3 to win.
