Aunt Indy Tops Blooded Horse Summer Sale

Ohio-bred yearling filly Aunt Indy topped the 70th annual Blooded Horse Summer Sale on Tuesday, Aug. 26 at the Champions Center in Springfield, Ohio.

Aunt Indy, selling as Hip 71, was the sale topper, purchased for $33,333 ($24,000 USD) by Vernon Beachy of New Philadelphia, Ohio. Bred by Micah Burkholder of Rushsylvania, Ohio and consigned by agent Spurwood Farm, the daughter of In Range is the second foal out of the Uncle Peter mare Aunt Suzanna. Aunt Indy's dam is a half sister to Grand Circuit stakes winner and Pennsylvania champion Flawless Country ($567,819 - 1:53), and the family includes 2018 Yonkers International Trot winner and millionaire Cruzado Dela Noche.

The sale featured Black Type yearlings along with racehorses and breeding stock.
