On a beautiful Monday (Aug. 25) in the Bluegrass, Miki And Minnie maintained her win streak in a geared down 1:50 at The Red Mile in the $111,111 third leg of the Kentucky Championship Series for sophomore filly pacers. 

Also on the card, Go Dog Go left favoured Super Chapter well behind to return to the winner’s circle in 1:53.2 in his $111,111 division of the third leg of the series for three-year-old male trotters. The 14-race card included three $41,667 divisions of the third leg of the Kentucky Commonwealth Series, four $20,833 divisions of the third leg of the Kentucky Golden Rod Series and one $20,833 division of the third leg of the Kentucky Wildcat Series.

Miki And Minnie glides to victory, Go Dog Go seizes his opportunity in Championship Series

After the scratch of Caviart Delight, harness racing’s top ranked horse was moved to post position four in the now field of four. With Dexter Dunn at the controls, Miki And Minnie settled in second for the first quarter as world champion Looksgoodinloulou (Yannick Gingras) set the split of :28.1.

The daughter of Always B Miki-Thats The Ticket forged to the front by the half and established fractions of :56.2 and 1:24.2 before hitting the line with a last quarter in :25.3 well within herself.

Looksgoodinloulou was valiant in defeat with her own :25.3 final panel but the heavy favourite and Kentucky champion was simply best. Champagne Room and Andrew McCarthy were third.

Trained by Chris Ryder, Miki And Minnie has only lost once, and that by a head, since a third-place finish behind Looksgoodinloulou in her Breeders Crown elimination last October. The only other horse to defeat her is Rodeo Drive Deo who was second in that same race last year.

The Dan Patch Award winner competes as a homebred for Craig Henderson, Robert Mondillo and Lawrence Minowitz. The filly’s bankroll has swelled to $1.92 million with a resume of 15-5-1. in 21 starts. Miki And Minnie provided $2.10 to win for her supporters.

With an uncharacteristic break by Kentucky champion and favourite Super Chapter (Dunn) behind the gate, Go Dog Go and Todd McCarthy took advantage of the moment to sail home in a wire-to-wire score over Gimpanzee Dancer (A. McCarthy) and Te Quiero Lindy (Andy Miller).

Go Dog Go jumped right to the lead as Super Chapter trailed the field right as the wings of the gate unfolded. The son of Greenshoe-Primary Target never relinquished command through fractions of :28.3, :58.3 and 1:27.1.

Te Qiuero Lindy sat in second until the drive to the wire, with Gimpanzee Dancer in third until the finish line was in sight. Both horses gave it their all with :26.4 and :26.1 final quarters but Go Dog Go’s :26.1 last split was too strong.

Bred by Wiesman Farms, who owns the colt in conjunction with Al Libfeld, Go Dog Go is trained by Carter Pinske. The colt is 6-2-3 in 16 career starts and 4-0-1 in six starts this season with his only off the board finish an eighth in the Grade I Hambletonian after a tough draw. Go Dog Go has collected $646,133 in purse money and those who wagered on him earned $7.34 as the public’s second choice.

Found picks up third straight in Commonwealth Series

T. McCarthy guided Found to the winner’s circle for the third consecutive time and sixth this season in 1:54.2 for trainer Brett Pelling as the heavy favourite in the field of six in the sole division for three-year-old filly pacers. The daughter of Always B Miki-Geothermal was in command the entire mile. Hip Shot (A. McCarthy) was second and Accede (Gingras) was third.

The Diamond Creek Farm homebred is 8-2-1 in 12 starts with $111,780 in purse money. She is a half-sibling to 2023 Horse of the Year and world champion Confederate.

The team of Tony Hall and Anette Lorentzon won the first division for sophomore male trotters with Taipan As by a nose over My Degenerate (A. Miller) in 1:52.3. Favoured Blank (A. McCarthy) completed the trifecta.

Winless at two, the son of Walner-Black Mamba As set a new lifetime mark with his fifth win from nine starts in 2025. Racing as a homebred for ACL Stuteri AB, the colt is the first foal out of his dam who earned nearly $360,000 on the track.

Herecomesdajudge (A. Miller) took the field all the way in 1:52.1 to win the second division for three-year-old male trotters. Big Shoes (Gingras) was in second with favourite Global Sensation hitting the wire in third.

The triumph was the second victory from 12 starts this year of the son of Muscle Hill-Designed To Be to bolster his record to 4-6-4 in 21 starts and break the $150,000 mark in earnings. The final time was also the swiftest the colt has trotted.

Bred by Al Libfeld and Marvin Katz, Herecomesdajudge is out of world and Pennsylvania champion Designed To Be making him a half sibling to Dan Patch Award winner Greenshoe. The colt was brought home for $150,000 at the 2023 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale by Andy Miller Stable, T L P Stable, Mr. Caroll Huffman and Patrick Hoopes.

Herecomesdajudge paid $20.10 to win as the fourth choice.

Kentucky Proud Final winner Whiskey Wow returns to his winning ways in Golden Rod Series

Favourite Whiskey Wow (D. Miller, $4.40) and second choice Grande Via (Gingras, $16.52) won the divisions of the Golden Rod Series for three-year-old male trotters.

Driver A. McCarthy swept the two divisions for sophomore filly pacers with Duchess Deo ($30.18) and Baret ($12.10).

Tim Tetrick and World By Storm won the lone Wildcat division for three-year-old male trotters.

Racing will continue through Sunday (Oct. 5), following a Sunday through Wednesday schedule. Fans and horsemen can look forward to 5:05 p.m. post times on Sundays, and 1:00 p.m. post times on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays throughout the meet.

The Red Mile will once again feature industry low takeout on the pari-mutuel side of things while offering fans a full buffet of wagering options including bookend daily double wagering exacta and trifecta wagering, 20 cent superfectas, Pick-3, Pick-4, Pick-5 and Pick-6 offerings and the Super Hi-5.

On Wednesday (Aug. 27), Endurance will place his hooves on the track for his sixth pari-mutuel engagement to compete for his fifth straight in the fourth $80,000 USD leg of the Kentucky Championship Series at The Red Mile for diagonally gaited freshman males. The 13-race card also features two $30,000 USD fourth round divisions of the Kentucky Commonwealth Series, three $15,000 USD divisions of the fourth leg of the Kentucky Golden Rod Series and two $10,000 USD fourth round contests of the Kentucky Wildcat Series for two-year-old male trotters.
