SBOANJ Announces New Jersey Incentive Program Details

The Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey (SBOANJ) announced on Tuesday, Aug. 19 its New Jersey Incentive Programs for 2025-2026.
The Incentive Programs include breeders awards, New Jersey-sired owner awards and the Resident Mare Rebates.
The New Jersey breeder awards pay 12 per cent of the purse amount earned by each horse in division and finals of designated New Jersey races. The award amounts are determined each year based on the number of horses raced. The following races are included in the program: New Jersey Sire Stakes Renaissance Pace, New Jersey Sire Stakes Premier Races, New Jersey Sire Stakes Development Fund Races, SBOANJ Garden State Trot, SBOANJ Home Grown Pace and New Jersey Classic.
New Jersey owners awards are payments to New Jersey-sired horses racing in overnight events at Meadowlands Racetrack. The owner of a New Jersey-sired horse that is six years old or under will be paid a monetary amount based on finish: first $1,000 USD, second $900 USD, third $800 USD, fourth $700 USD and fifth $600 USD.
The Resident Mare Rebates are a $1,000 USD rebate paid to the first owner of record of a mare who has resided in New Jersey for 150 days, up to and including foaling.
The SBOANJ oversees all three of these programs, therefore a SBOANJ membership and W9 form are required for payments. Rebates are subject to change based on available funding.
