Livinthebeachlife

Livinthebeachlife doubled up in the Pop-Up Series with an identical time to his round-one victory as he captured the second $12,000 division of leg two at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Monday, Aug. 11.

Louis-Philippe Roy hustled the gelding forward into the first turn, driving on to make the front after the quarter in :26.3. Livinthebeachlife maintained an open-length lead through the half in :54.3 and three-quarters in 1:22.4 and was asked for more as Jk Victory (Tyler Borth) and Taylors Credit (Natasha Day) began to close in at the top of the stretch. The leader re-fired at the eighth pole and pulled away by 4-1/4 lengths to secure a 1:50.2 victory. Jk Victory finished second over Taylors Credit.

Livinthebeachlife has now won three straight races for trainer Victor Puddy and is six-for-27 this season. He has compiled a career record of 31 victories and $484,315 in earnings from 155 starts. The seven-year-old son of Somebeachsomewhere-Stienams Place is owned by Gordon McDonald of Ottawa, Ont., Christopher Boland of St. Johns, N.L., and Limco Inc. of Chateauguay, Que. He paid $2.30 to win.

Booming Economy ($8.50) legged out an extended journey on the rim and got his nose up at the wire in a four-horse photo to win the first Pop-Up Series division in 1:51.3. Tyler Borth steered the four-year-old Captaintreacherous-Economy Terror gelding for trainer Corey Giles and owner Brad Gray.

Tarquinus Hanover ($41.80) upset in the final division with a half-length victory in 1:50.3 for driver Travis Henry and trainer Tess Waxman. The five-year-old son of Captaintreacherous-Thisorthat Hanover is owned by Waxman, Frank Cirillo, and Carmelo Scime.

The series is for pacing horses and geldings that have started for a purse of $7,500 or less in one of their last three starts, or have not won $20,000 in a minimum of 10 starts in 2025. Leg one starters were also eligible.
