Bettie White followed the pocket trip to victory in the featured Winners Over Pace at Inverness Raceway on Sunday, Aug. 10.

Zachary Mullins was in the bike of his student as they took the rail spot in the field of six going for $2,000. Sunshine Lou and Campbell MacIsaac left from the center post to set the tempo. As the pacesetter clocked the quarters in :28.4, :58.3, and 1:27.4, Bettie White followed his coattails in second position. Biding her time until deep stretch, Bettie White advanced toward the finish line, brushing off a late sprint from Eastcoast Invader (Monica Sutherland) and winning by a nose in 1:57.4. Sunshine Lou completed the top three.

Bettie White, a four-year-old daughter of Arthur Blue Chip - Jo Anne Jet, is a winner of $19,210 in her career with a record of 11-7-2 in 38 starts. This year she has won five races from 10 starts. Darlene and Brock Maclellan co-own Bettie White. She paid $4.40 to win.
