Tyrone Bow Tie Trips Out In Rideau Preferred

Tyrone Bow Tie won his third $10,000 Preferred Handicap Trot in his last five starts as he prevailed off a pocket trip in the Rideau Carleton Raceway feature on Wednesday, Aug. 6.
He pushed forward past Raising Rusty (Stephane Pouliot) to secure the pocket behind a firing Emma Town Bud (Pierre Bovay), who provided a first quarter time of :27.3. Run Like Hill (J.R. Plante) made a first-over move nearing the half in :56.4 but was finished by three-quarters in 1:25.1, and Emma Town Bud raced unopposed into the final turn. Tyrone Bow Tie angled out to begin his attack as they straightened for home, and he grinded down Emma Town Bud for a three-quarter-length win in 1:54.2. The Canam Banker (Pascal Berube) came flying late but just missed the place spot, finishing third.
