Mirage Hanover Sidelined

Mirage Hanover, the 2024 Breeders Crown winner and fastest ever Canadian-sired sophomore pacer, has been sidelined with injury and is likely to miss the majority of the 2025 season.
In addition to the Breeders Crown victory over eventual divisional champions Nijinsky and Captain Albano, Mirage Hanover was the runner-up in the Cane Pace and Little Brown Jug during his million-dollar sophomore season. He took his mark of 1:46.3 at The Red Mile in a division of the Tattersalls to eclipse the great Somebeachsomewhere as the fastest Canadian-sired three-year-old in harness racing history. The only three-year-olds faster are Confederate (1:46.1) and Legendary Hanover (1:46.2).
The son of Bettors Delight - Mayhem Seelster is owned by Marvin Rounick of Narbeth, Pa. and trained by Jake Leamon. Leamon told Trot Insider that Mirage Hanover suffered an injury during his four-year-old return qualifier on April 26 at The Meadowlands. During that mile, Mirage Hanover was pulled up by driver Dexter Dunn and finished distanced. After that mile, it was revealed that Mirage Hanover suffered a fractured sesamoid on his front left hoof.
"He had a screw put in, had two months stall rest, now he’s on hand walking the last couple of weeks," stated Leamon. "It’s healing well."
The sibling to Leamon stable stalwart Mad Max Hanover, Mirage Hanover sports a career summary of 10-8-4 in 29 starts with $1,298,857 in lifetime earnings.
