American Risk On Top Again At Truro

American Risk won his sixth top-level event of the season at Truro Raceway on Sunday, July 20, wiring his rivals to score a second straight Winners Over Pace victory.
The gelding had no problem getting to the front from post six, motoring off the wings for Robert Laffin in the $2,500 event to land on top entering the first turn. From there, he carved out fractions of :28, :58.1, and 1:26.3, and the two-time Truro Horse of the Year fended off the first-over Crime Boss (Ken Parker Jr.) and rolled to victory in 1:56.1. Crime Boss was a tough second, 1-1/2 lengths behind. Risin Horizon (Darren Crowe) completed the triactor.
American Risk is six-for-10 this year for trainer George Rennison and the Risky Bizz Group of Truro, N.S. The American Ideal-Kissing Bandit gelding notched his 48th career win while upping his earnings to $144,825 in 140 starts. He returned $3.20 to win.
