Duly Resolved Takes Open; Five For Pantaleano

Duly Resolved

Duly Resolved captured the $21,918 Open Trot with an authoritative steer from driver Tyler Miller, who won four races on the 13-race card at Tioga Downs on Saturday, July 19.

In the feature, Dewey Arnold (Dan Rawlings) left from his outside post and led to the quarter in :27.2 before Duly Resolved ($4.90) took over command from the pocket with a circuit to go and led through the half in :56.4 before attempting to bottom out the field en route to three-quarters in 1:23.2. Eventual second-place finisher Enola (Mike Merton) came flying late, but it was too late as Duly Resolved cruised to a 1-1/2-length victory in 1:53. Kingpin Hanover (Jim Pantaleano) finished third.

Duly Resolved recorded his 20th lifetime win in his 80th start. The six-year-old gelding by Resolve-Motown Muscle is owned by Pollack Racing and trained by Jeff Cullipher. He paid $4.90 to win in his fifth win in 20 starts this year.

Miller got his other wins with Papa Joe Lozito ($5.90), Full Strength ($3.80), and Bb Lucky Boy ($2.70).

However, he was not the driving star of the day, as Pantaleano did one better and drove five winners on the card. He got his wins with the dominant Big Girl Plays ($6.90), Mystical Wynn ($2.80), Purple Lord ($2.30), Pompano Beach ($4.50), and Usurp Hanover ($23.80). Pantaleano is striking at a 16.3 per cent rate at Tioga this year with 42 wins to date.

Tioga Downs hosts its next card of live racing on Sunday with a post time of 1 p.m.
