Vernon Friday Feature To Kinnder Hotblood

Kinnder Hotblood winning at Vernon Downs

Ontario Sires Stakes graduate Kinnder Hotblood delivered on her 3-2 pari-mutuel promise in the Friday, July 11 feature at Vernon Downs, a $10,135 conditioned optional claiming trot.

Discus Hanover and driver Leon Bailey were first to the quarter in :27 then backed down the tempo to the half in :56.3 while Kinnder Hotblood and her current trainer/driver Jimmy Whittemore went first-up from fourth to challenge but decided to tuck in the two-hole as they approached three-quarters in 1:25.1. As the trotters reached the stretch, Kinnder Hotblood pounced out of the pocket and went on by to win easily in 1:55.1. Dryden Hanover and Brad Irvine came on to finish second while Lous Lancelot and John MacDonald edged by Discus Hanover for third.

A four-year-old Kadabra mare out of Her Name Is Lola, Kinnder Hotblood was an Ontario Sires Stakes Mid-Season Gold Final upset winner last year and now has nine wins in 25 starts with more than $220,000 in earnings. She's won three of her eight races this year competing stateside for her new owner Janie Kellogg of Fort Ann, New York.

Live harness racing returns to Vernon Downs on Saturday, July 12, with a post time of 5:05 p.m.
