Families and racing fans alike are invited to a one-of-a-kind community event that combines fast-paced harness racing, pint-sized ponies, and family fun this Sunday, July 13 at Clinton Raceway in support of the Huron Heat Female Hockey Association.

The event promises something for everyone:

• Miniature Horse Race – Cheer on the little legends as they dash down the track in a special exhibition race that’s as heartwarming as it is entertaining. The drivers and mini horses set to compete are as follows:

  • Rory MacInnis and Queenie
  • Cami Saftic and Polly Pockets
  • Macie Mayhew and Silver
  • Elizabeth White and Spotted Princess
  • Chase Graham and Firefly
  • Jett Jamieson and Quinton
  • Lucas House and Cinnamon
     
• Kids Day Activities – Face painting, bouncy castles, crafts and giveaways will keep young fans smiling all afternoon.
   
• Live Harness Racing – Enjoy the thunder of hooves and the thrill of the sulky with a full card of 10 races!

All proceeds from the day will support the Huron Heat, helping cover equipment, and development costs for this growing and hardworking girls' hockey program. Community spirit is at the heart of this event, and the partnership between local horsepeople and hockey families is what makes it special.

“Small-town sports, whether it’s racing or hockey, rely on strong community support,” said Jessica Carnochan, Marketing Manager. “This event is about giving families a day to remember while supporting the next generation of athletes — on ice and on track.”

Gates open at noon, with the first harness race scheduled for 1:30 p.m. and kids activities running from 1 - 4 p.m. Admission is free, with additional fundraising activities including a 50/50 draw, BBQ, and silent auction.
