Lakers Bank Deposits Rideau Preferred Win

Lakers Bank delivered a front-end score and took it to the bank in the $10,000 Preferred Handicap Pace on Sunday, July 6 at Rideau Carleton Raceway.
Driver Darcy Clancy wanted the front, and the pair surged off the gate to take early control with an opening quarter of :27.3. Heavy 1-5 favourite Mythic Gambler (Robert Shepherd) came first over and later picked up cover from Sports Activator (Ryan Guy) as they reached the half in :57.4. Still on top at three-quarters in a sharp 1:24.4, Lakers Bank looked strong heading for home.
In the stretch, Beef N Cheddar (William Roy) made a late push, and Mythic Gambler tipped three wide to have a go at the leader, but neither could reel in Lakers Bank, who powered home for the win in 1:52.2 by 1-3/4 lengths, his first Preferred-level score at Rideau. Beef N Cheddar was second, with Mythic Gambler settling for third. A $2 win ticket on Lakers Bank returned $7.80.
The four-year-old gelded son of All Bets Off–Victorias Vett is trained and driven by Darcy Clancy for Val Spar Stables of West Hill, Ont. Tonight's victory was the pacer's third win of the season and ninth lifetime, boosting his 2025 earnings to $24,245 and his career total to $93,955.
