My deepest condolences to
My deepest condolences to Jack's family and his many friends. I have lots of fond memories working first in the backstretch and then in the race office of Jack and his crew. Great times, lots of laughs and practical jokes, oh how I miss those days when racing was fun. He always was smiling and helpful to those who were short a few bucks till payday, didn't want anyone in his community to go without. Put on great meals at Christmas, Thanksgiving etc. It was my pleasure to share a drink or two (on several occasions more) in the kitchen with him and will remember the verbal jousting between himself Ron Waples and when he had a pass to get out Kent Baker. Now Mr.Waples could always throw the best jabs at people and usually would go for the jugular but Jack was one guy who could hold is own. I used to laugh till I cried and today I think of that and say thanks Jack and all the rest who made me laugh in life even on the worst of days. May you rest in peace.
So saddened to learn of
So saddened to learn of Jacks passing...he played a big part in taking care of so many of us over the years. I have great memories from when I was a little punk running around the track kitchens at Garden City, Greenwood & Mohawk Raceways...Jack made the best westerns, rice pudding & oakmeal cookies...always great food & lotsa teasing & laughs! My prayers are with you, Jack & your family. Tim
