Bless Me Father Seeks Series Sweep At Charlottetown

The third and final leg of the All Star Cresting Trot Series for three-year-old colts and fillies will headline the Thursday, June 25 card of harness racing at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Bless Me Father will try to complete a clean sweep of the series in the $7,000 third leg, which will go postward as race six on the 14-dash program beginning at 6 p.m. (ADT).
Marc Campbell will drive the three-year-old Father Patrick-My Angel Heart gelding from post two for owner/trainer Donna Van Meer of Mount Herbert, P.E.I. A dominant winner in legs one and two, he aims for the series hat trick as the 5-2 morning line choice.
Oceanview Nikki is installed as the 3-1 second choice from post one with trainer/driver Michael McGuigan in the bike while stablemate Supreme Rockette is the 7-2 third choice from post five with Gilles Barrieau listed to drive.
The $4,000 Open Trot hits the track in race 11 with a competitive field of five featuring Fight Song as the 5-2 favourite from post four after finishing second in last week's edition for driver Jason Hughes and trainer Ashley Gamester.
The top overnight event on the card is $4,350 Fillies & Mares Winners Over Pace in race 13 with a well-matched field of six. Sugar Bowl is the 5-2 morning line favourite from post five for driver Gilles Barrieau and trainer Jeff Holmes. The six-year-old Sweet Lou-Well Read mare was a winner in three of five starts so far this season while never finishing worse than third.
The Hunter River Lions Club pace is in race five with a field of nine sophomore pacing fillies chasing a $3,350 purse. Isle Bea Wickedwon is the 5-2 morning line favourite as she looks to stay undefeated in 2025 in her fourth start of the season for trainer Ron Matheson.
