American Risk Back In Truro Winner's Circle

American Risk returned to the Truro Raceway winner's circle for the fourth time since the meet began last month as he dominated the Winners Over pacers once again on Friday, June 20.
With Ernie Laffin picking up the catch-drive for his third sulky success of the evening, American Risk fired off the gate from an assigned outside post to establish command in the $2,500 feature and never looked as he charted panels of :28, :58.1 and 1:26.3. Drawing off by more than three lengths off the final turn, he stopped the clock in 1:56.2 and paid $4.70 to win as the 6-5 second choice. Like A Glove, the 3-5 favourite trained and driven by Marc Whebby, had the slight edge in the place photo after closing from behind the Darren Crowe-trained and reined Rockin Corona, last week's upset winner who settled for third today.
Trained by George Rennison and owned by the local Risky Bizz Group, American Risk now boasts four wins -- all in the top class at Truro -- and a pair of third-place finishes in his first six starts this year. The nine-year-old gelded son of American Ideal out of Kissing Bandit has won 46 races and $141,950 lifetime.
