Emma Town Bud Takes Rideau Preferred Again

After three straight victories in the $10,000 Preferred Trot at Rideau Carleton Raceway, Emma Town Bud added another on Wednesday, June 18 with a gate-to-wire performance in 1:55.2.
Piloted by his trainer, Pierre Bovay, Emma Town Bud wasted little time in achieving the front from post six. Maintaining a 1-1/2-length advantage over the field of featured trotters, Emma Town Bud handled the timer with fractions in :28.2, :58.1 and 1:27. Without letting up, the gelding continued on home to win by 1-3/4 lengths in 1:55.2. Impressive Dude (Guy Gagnon) followed the pocket trip to second and Tyrone Bow Tie (Ryan Guy) completed the show ticket.
Emma Town Bud is owned by Nicole Bovay Gurtner. The eight-year-old gelded son of Big Stick Lindy-Centerfold Lady moved his record to 6-3-3 in 12 starts this year and his career record to 27-20-12 in 95 starts with $394,007 in career earnings. He paid $2.80 to win.
