Standardbred Canada Integrity Statement

Standardbred Canada

Standardbred Canada is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct across all facets of the Canadian Standardbred racing and breeding industry.

Integrity forms the foundation of public trust, industry credibility, and the responsible care of our horses. It is essential to fair competition, long-term sustainability, and the continued confidence of the public in our sport.

Horse racing in Canada is a regulated industry governed by stringent rules and oversight at both the provincial and national levels. It is important to recognize that the vast majority of participants are honest, hard-working individuals of good character who conduct themselves with professionalism and care for both the sport and our cherished horses. Standardbred Canada continually reviews its licensing and membership criteria to maintain and elevate these standards.

At the same time, Standardbred Canada is deeply concerned by any violations related to integrity and horse welfare. Every industry participant must adhere to the established rules and regulations and prioritize the health and well-being of the horse above all else.

Standardbred Canada will continue to work in collaboration with regulators, racetracks, and industry partners to strengthen integrity, protect horses, and support the dedicated individuals who uphold the values of our industry.

We will apply reciprocity to ensure that violations are recognized across jurisdictions, remain vigilant in maintaining a fair and safe environment for all, and reaffirm that the health and welfare of the horse will always be our top priority.
