Berube Dominates Sunday At Hippodrome 3R

Hippodrome 3R leading driver Pascal Berube drove winners in half of the afternoon's 10 races on Sunday, June 1 at the Trois-Rivières, Que. half-mile oval.
Berube set the tone for the day winning right out of the gate as he swept the early Daily Double with Greystone Watchman ($4.60), a trailing tier starter trained by Eric Milot, and Bets Beach ($3.40) from the Yves Tessier stable.
Berube teamed up with two-time 3R leading trainer Marc-Andre Simoneau for a pair of victories, including stable newcomer Summer Lovin ($2.80) in the fourth race and repeat winner Beauty Is Blind ($3.50) in the finale to complete a sweep of the late Daily Double after driving JK Party ($2.30) to victory in the penultimate race for conditioner Mathieu Nadeau.
The Berube-dominated Daily Doubles returned $7.20 and $5.80, respectively.
Berube, who was just shy of a million-dollar season in 2024 when he was named Quebec's Driver of the Year for the fifth consecutive time, has won 31 races so far this year, including 18 at 3R to top the driver standings through the first five cards of the 2025 meet.
Sunday's first race was marred by an incident when the Louis-Philippe Turcotte trainee Getyourlicenseliam, who led until the final turn, was pulled up by driver Marie-Claude Auger and taken to the safety lane at the top of the stretch where he was tended to on track.
