Blank Stare winning at Tioga Downs

Blank Stare ($22.40) prevailed by a nose for a 10-1 upset with Tyler Miller working out the winning trip in the $16,438 Winners Over Pace at Tioga Downs on Sunday, May 25. 

Hez Allthe Rage N (Colin Kelly) led the scratch-reduced field of five through splits of :26, :53 and 1:20.4 while Livonjaxandqueens (Mike Merton) went first-up going down the backstretch. As they reached the stretch, Blank Stare slipped through on the inside while BB Lucky Boy (Braxten Boyd) came rushing three-wide.  Blank Stare just got to the line first in 1:50.4 over BB Lucky Boy with Hez Allthe Rage N settling for third money.

Blank Stare, an eight-year-old gelding by Bolt The Duer out of Hypnotize, is trained by Jeff Cullipher and owned by Pollack Racing and trained by Jeff Cullipher. He is now three-for-eight this year and has 31 victories lifetime.

Despite BB Lucky Boy's nose loss in the feature, Cameron Capone had a training hat trick on the nine-race card, scoring with Fulsome ($5.80, Braxten Boyd) and repeat winners Vandiemen Bluechip ($2.20, Colin Kelly) and Fashion Cantab ($2.30, Andrew Adamczyk).

Live harness racing returned to Tioga Downs on Friday, May 30, with a post time of 6:15 p.m.
