Purple Lord ruled over his rivals in the $16,438 Winners Over Trot at Tioga Downs on Saturday, May 24.

With Jim Pantaleano up, Purple Lord forged out to the lead and led to the quarter in :28.1.  He was never bested after, slowing things down to be first to the half in :58.1 and then maintaining his advantage through a 1:26.4 third quarter. As they reached the stretch Purple Lord found another gear and won by nearly two lengths in 1:55.2.  Andover Contessa (Braxten Boyd) had to settle for second with Lava Field (Tyler Miller) third.

Purple Lord is a five-year-old gelding by Tactical Landing.  He is owned by trainer Mike Deters along with John Spindler, Joel Warner and Michael Paulson. Notching his second win this season, Purple Lord now owns 11 career victories.

Tioga Downs returns to live harness racing on Sunday, May 25 with a post time of 1 p.m.
