Bounty Hunter Returns To Red Shores Saturday

Harness Racing at Charlottetown Driving Park

A return to action for a top-class pacer highlights the Preferred 2 Pace on Saturday, May 24 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The capital oval has a 10-dash program starting at 6 p.m. (ADT) with the $4,550 Preferred 2 Pace headlining in the seventh race.

Bounty Hunter gets the nod from post five in his seasonal debut with Kenny Arsenault handling both the driving and training duties for owner Kevin Harvey of Halifax, N.S. The six-year-old son of Huntsville sports a mark of 1:50.4 and more than $247,000 in career earnings. He tuned up for his return with a solid 1:57.2 qualifier on May 17 after last racing in the $30,000 MacGregor Gold Cup and Saucer Consolation last August.

Tradition (To be driven by Adam Merner) is another top contender from post one for trainer Gordie Hennessey. The Always B Miki gelding was third in the Preferred last week.

Jewels Dragon (Marc Campbell) has hit the board in both of his 2025 starts, including a second-place finish in this class. The veteran has over $320,000 earned lifetime and draws post 3 for trainer Landon Campbell.

Post two has Rose Run X Con (Norris Rogers) fresh off a second-place finish at Summerside in his Island debut from the Nicholas Oakes Stable, while ABC (Ken Murphy) completes the Preferred group from post four for his first start on red soil after relocating from the Ontario circuit.

The Post Time Picks go with Bounty Hunter on top.

“It’s great to see Bounty Hunter back in action, and he looks ready to roll off that impressive qualifier. It could be picture time if Kenny puts him in play when the wings fold.”

The ninth race on the card carries a $4,000 purse with Blood Money the one to beat from post two for Gilles Barrieau and trainer Ron Matheson. The $500,000 earner was a strong second in the Preferred ranks on May 3 for owner Dr. Mitchell Downey, pacing in 1:54 flat

Other top contenders in the ninth include Tony Too Tall (Myles Heffernan Jr.) for trainer Trevor Hicken and Shadows Terror (Jason Hughes) from the Lenny Myers barn.
