Gagnon Tops The Wednesday Card At Rideau

Guy Gagnon led the standings on the Wednesday, May 21 evening card at Rideau Carleton Raceway as both a driver and trainer as he rattled off five driving victories and three training wins.

D A Temptation kicked off the action for Gagnon with a gate-to-wire triumph by a head in 1:53.2 in the $8,000 fillies and mares conditioned pace. Trained by Gagnon, the five-year-old daughter of Sportswriter-Taboo Seelster is owned by Pl Yvan Mondoux Inc. She paid $9.90 to win.

Gagnon picked up his second training and driving win with Ciel Blue (Muscle Mass - Volontee) in the $7,000 conditioned trot, a win by three lengths in 1:56.2. The gelding is owned by Ecuries Guy Gagnon Inc. and Gestion Louis Latulippe Inc. He returned $2.20 to win.

To round off the training hat trick, Beach Journey (Net Tem Eom - Diva Du Jour) won the fillies and mares claimer worth $6,200 in 1:54.3. She is owned by Ecuries Guy Gagnon Inc. and Frederic Gagnon. She paid $3.40 to win.

Gagnon added driving wins with Gimmie A Corona ($3.50) for trainer Mandy Archer and Expresso Beans ($3.60) for trainer Drew Smyth to complete the five-bagger.
