June Palmer Passes
The SBOANJ has announced that June R. Palmer, 74, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ
.
Services for Palmer will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, NJ.
Visiting will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, May 7 at the funeral home.
Palmer and her husband, Taylor Palmer Jr., resided in Manalapan, NJ, where they owned and operated Boxwood Farm. The 145-acre Boxwood Farm, in the Palmer family for five generations, boards, breeds and preps standardbred racehorses for sale.
Taylor Palmer, honoured as a director emeritus in 2008, was a member of the Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey’s board of directors from 1982 to 2007.
June was born in Freehold Township and was a graduate of the Helene Fuld School of Nursing, Trenton, and had been a registered nurse for Dr. Samuel Barr in Englishtown prior to raising her family and working with her husband at Boxwood Farm.
June was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Englishtown.
Surviving are her husband, Taylor Palmer Jr.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Taylor 'Chuck' and Jennifer Palmer; Scott A. and Linda Palmer, and Lee E. and Darci Palmer; a daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Ted Schulz; a brother, Barney Kohn; and 10 grandchildren, Ashley, Nicole, Haley, Kaitlin, Megan, Erin, Cody, and Zachary Palmer, and Steven and Brian Schulz. A sister, Marie Christina Bosl, passed in 2011.
Interment will take place at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent, following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to First Presbyterian Church, 50 Main St., Englishtown, NJ 07726, would be appreciated.
