Cant See Me Turns Heads In Friday Qualifier

Cant See Me

If 2024 Somebeachsomewhere Horse of the Year Chantilly does race against the boys in the 2025 Pepsi North America Cup, a filly to watch in the 2025 edition of the Fan Hanover Stakes could be Cant See Me.

Qualifying for the second straight week, Cant See Me certainly turned heads on Friday, May 16 at Woodbine Mohawk Park with a qualifying effort that nearly equalled the national season's mark for her age and gait.

As Bruno No No No (Bob McClure) fronted Friday's ninth qualifier to the opening quarter in :29.4, Louis-Philippe Roy settled Cant See Me into third and then made a rush for the lead down the backside. The filly touched down on top just after the :57.4 half and then effortlessly breezed through her back half with no serious competition. After a 1:25 third station, Cant See Me closed in :27.3 for the 1:52.3 score. Bruno No No No was next across the wire, nearly five lengths in arrears.

The only filly faster on Canadian soil to date in 2025 is Outtathisworld Deo by virtue of her 1:52.2 score at Mohawk on May 9.

Victorious on the Grand Circuit in 2024 in her Champlain division and an elimination of the Shes A Great Lady, Cant See Me (Captaintreacherous - Unseen) is owned by Hudson Standardbred Stable Inc., of Hudson, Que. while under the tutelage of Shawn Steacy. As a freshman, she compiled a record of 4-2-2 from 11 starts with $194,981 in earnings and a mark of 1:51.3. She's one of 41 fillies eligible to the Fan Hanover, with those elims slated for Saturday, June 7.

Other notable qualifying winners on Friday morning included Private Access (1:56.2 for Roy and trainer Luc Blais), Ayeaye Captain Deo (1:55 for driver McClure and trainer Garry Merner) and Emoticon Legacy (1:58.2 for Roy and Blais). The full qualifying stream is available below.
