Deborah and Jamie Bozman’s Cindy Jo ($5.60) was a 1:53.1 winner in the $25,000 Mares Open Pace on Tuesday, May 13 at Harrington Raceway.

Race favourite Square Deal (Tony Morgan) made the lead from post position four and set fractions of :27.3, :56.1 and 1:24.4 as Disturbed Hanover (Barton Dalious) mounted a strong first-over attack, while Cindy Jo and driver Russell Foster followed the leader in the pocket. In the stretch, Square Deal faded as Cindy Jo surged up the passing lane to hit the wire first in a blanket finish over a charging Incaseyoudidntknow (Jim Morand) and Disturbed Hanover.

Cindy Jo, a five-year-old Stay Hungry-Musicale Hanover mare, recorded her 13th lifetime win and second in eight starts this season for trainer Walter Bozman Jr.

Driver Rick Still earned his 1,000th career win in the sixth race aboard Ceba Horsey’s Always B Praying ($3.60). Still, who started his driving career in Maryland, has been a regular on the Delaware circuit for the last decade.

Montrell Teague and Ross Wolfenden each had driving doubles to lead all drivers.
