Twin B Tuffenuff Returns Saturday

Gold Cup and Saucer runner-up Twin B Tuffenuff is back in action on red soil in the top class on Saturday, May 10 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The capital oval has a 14-dash presentation starting at 6 p.m. (ADT), with Twin B Tuffenuff headlining the $4,300 main event in the evening's penultimate dash.
The 10-year-old Rock N Roll Heaven stallion was racing the end of last season at Saratoga Casino Hotel on the tail end of a season where he scored 10 wins and earned $103,000 in purses, primarily in Atlantic Canada. Ron Matheson trains for owner Pat Morris, with Gilles Barrieau back in the bike for Saturday’s contest. Twin B Tuffenuff drew the outside post in the field of five.
Jewels Dragon, to be driven by Marc Campbell, has rail control from the Landon Campbell barn, fresh off a third-place finish in last week’s top class to One Eight Hundred and Blood Money, who are absent from competition this Saturday.
Post two in Saturday's top class has Shadows Terror with Red Shores Charlottetown's current leading driver Adam Merner in the seat while the horse is riding a three-race win streak. Laughagain Hanover (Jason Hughes) has post three while Tradition (Corey MacPherson) holds down post four.
The Post Time Picks take Twin B Tuffenuff to deliver as the morning line favourite.
“It's great to see the 2024 Governor’s Plate winner, Twin B Tuffenuff, back in action under the Red Shores lights. He looked fantastic during morning workouts over the past few weeks and closed strong to finish second in his qualifier so I expect him to dominate this group tonight.”
The Isle Pick 5 with the $2,000 guaranteed pool and low 15 per cent take out kicks off the program in the opener as Brookdale Ollie (Marc Campbell) is the top choice in the $2,800 event from post six for trainer Vaughan Doyle and owners Melinda Stead and Gary Ford.
The Super Hi5 launches in race five. Howmac Exclusive (MacPherson) took a new lifetime best of 1:54.3 last week in this $3,700 class and is favoured again in from post six for trainer Les Waite, who co-owns with Leith Waite and Jim Gorman.
The new late Pick 4 with the $1,000 guaranteed pool is featured in races 11 to 14 while the finale also has the second Super Hi5 of the night.
