Fellows Flames Wins Horsemen's Hockey Tourney

The Fellows Flames captured the 2025 Horsemen’s Hockey Tournament this past Sunday, April 27 at the Cambridge Sports Park in Cambridge, Ont.
Led by the management and coaching team of Rob and Kyle Fellows, the Fellows Flames came out of the gates flying and carried that momentum to a championship victory, defeating the Saftic Hurricanes 4-2 in the title game.
The Fellows Flames winning roster includes Matt German (G), Antonio Vecchio, Brandon Carter, Chris Bush, Evan Stephenson, Jeff Hunt, Jett Jamieson, Jody Jamieson, J.R. Plante, Kevin Skilton, Matt Bax, Pierre-Luc Roy, Quinton Fisher, Steve Hudon and Tyler Plante.
This year’s tournament received strong support by players, spectators and sponsors. The crowd for the championship game was the largest in years and the turnout for the “Family Skate” was strong. Organizers will plan to bring back the “Family Skate” again next year.
The organizers would like to send a sincere thank you to all the sponsors for their support of the Horsemen’s Hockey Tournament. The tournament would not be possible without the support of Brad Grant, Clinton Raceway, Central Ontario Standardbred Association, Glenn Smith & Northfield Farms (Dr. John McKnight), Grand River Raceway, Mark Burns, Tackmaster, The Raceway at Western Fair District and Woodbine Mohawk Park.
This year’s tournament also included a raffle to raise money for the family of Hunter Myers. The organizers would like to thank everyone that purchased a raffle ticket at the rink on Sunday, as a total of $2,140 was collected.
The raffle winners are listed below.
- Dinner for four at Woodbine Mohawk Park – Johnny McKinnon
- James MacDonald signed driving suit – Heather Daigrepont
- Jody Jamieson signed driving suit – Bruce Gilkinson
- Louis-Philippe Roy signed driving suit – Cindy Acton
Plans are already in motion for the 2026 Horsemen's Hockey Tournament and the organizers look forward to announcing details down the road.
