Hundred Dollar Man Wins Harrington Open

Brenda Teague's Hundred Dollar Man ($3.60) was a 1:53.3 winner in the $23,611 Open Pace on Monday, April 28 at Harrington Raceway.
The four-year-old Lather Up gelding and driver Montrell Teague sat second through fractions of :27.4, :57 and 1:26 before emerging from the pocket full of pace to eclipse the pacesetter Itsrockandroll A (Allan Davis) in deep stretch for his 11th career win for trainer Clyde Francis. Imaginary Line (Jason Thompson) held for third after a sustained first-over bid.
Montrell Teague also won the sub-featured $20,139 Winners Over Pace later with Armada Hanover ($3.80), who was a half-length winner over Captaincountrystar (Pat Berry) and Balder Son (Ross Wolfenden) for his seventh victory of the year for owners Legacy Racing of Delaware, Rojan Stables and Hazzard Racing Stables.
Driver Jason Thompson, who had three wins on the card, won with back-to-back longshots in the eighth and ninth races as Gold Star Sven ($23.20) and Teton Sunset ($47.80) both prevailed at long odds for the 32-year-old driver. There were three straight longshots in the sequence, including two straight trained by Joe Columbo. In addition to Teton Sunset, Columbo-trained Badlands N Wine ($55.40, Jim Morand) lit up the board in the 10th with a 1:55.3 triumph. Columbo had three training wins on the program.
Live harness racing will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule (post time 4:30 p.m.).
