Adamczyk Clings To NAADA Win At Monticello

Andrew Adamczyk grabbed the lead early with 9-2 shot Raceace and held firm on the point to the line to clinch victory in the $10,417 trot for the North American Amateur Drivers Association (NAADA) at Monticello Raceway on Wednesday, April 16.
Starting from post two, Raceace and Adamczyk cleared to command easily with pylon-starter Electro Long Legs (Scott Woogen) breaking stride before the start. Raceace carved out a :30.1 first quarter before drastically slowing proceedings to the half in 1:03.2.
Shoemaker Hanover (John Calabrese) progressed uncovered on the rim through the slowed middle half and ranged from the back to the leader’s throat while the tempo quickened to three-quarters in 1:34.1.
Raceace engaged with Shoemaker Hanover through the turn and stubbornly fought for command until the end, where he kept a nose up on Shoemaker Hanover to stop the clock in 2:05. Hobbs (Victoria Stratton) took third via placing as did Psalmsfortysixfive (Scott Keppler) in fourth since even-money chalk Mufasa As (Cody Houghtaling) crossed the finish third while off stride. The lapped-on break disqualified Mufasa As to fifth.
Alan Schwartz owns and trains Raceace, a nine-year-old gelding by Yankee Glide. Raceace paid $11 to win.
NAADA action returns to Monticello next Wednesday, April 23. First-race post time is 12:10 p.m.
