Railee Something Repeats In Oak Grove Open

After crushing from post eight on debut a week ago, Railee Something sailed around the track again at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel to post a 1:53.3 romp and a repeat victory in the $41,667 Open Trot on Tuesday (April 15).
Driver Joey Putnam hustled Railee Something to the fore from post seven and settled on a comfortable lead through a :27.3 first quarter. After grabbing a breather to a :56.4 half, Railee Something continued to cruise up the backside and easily thwarted a first-over push from Alana Hill (driven by Lewayne Miller) moving past three-quarters in 1:25.2. Railee Something widened her lead through the stretch under a hand drive to cross the beam 4-1/4 lengths better than Spy Coast (Jeremy Indof), who chased from a pocket trip for second. Oh Look Magic (Trace Tetrick) saved ground after a rough-gaited start to take third while DP Freedoms Chrome (Peter Wrenn) closed from second over for fourth.
A homebred for owner Ronald Mersky, Railee Something has now won 22 races from 47 starts and earned has earned just shy of $1.1 million. Roger Cullipher trains the five-year-old daughter of International Moni who paid $3.04 to win.
Racing continues at Oak Grove on Monday (April 21). First-race post time at Oak Grove is 1:45 p.m. (CDT).
